Cozy Autumn Book Tag Featured Image

It’s been a while since I've done a book tag, and while the Cozy Autumn Book Tag is an older one, Lucy, The Book Belle, posted the tag on her YouTube on September 20, 2020. However, it is new to me and sounded like a lot of fun.

Book tags are a fun way to share our reading experiences and discover new books. I'm excited to dive into the Cozy Autumn Book Tag, and I hope you'll join me!

Take a look at The Book Belle’s video, and if you are so inclined, play along. Consider yourselves all tagged!

Just a Note

All links will open in a new window to the book's page on the Author's official website. If I cannot find the book page, the link will take you to the Author's home page or as a last resort, the book's page on Good Reads.

I am making 0 money from this post.

The Cozy Autumn Book Tag Questions

1. What book always reminds you of fall/autumn?

This book may surprise you, but the book that always reminds me of autumn is
“The Girl Who Drank The Moon,” by Kelly Barnhill.

The best way to turn a child into a reader is to read to them. Yep, simple as that. Read to a child, they turn into readers, hungry for the journey only a book can give them.

I bought this book to read to my oldest granddaughter, and we still gather together every October to read it, surrounded by all my grandchildren and other family members.

Not only did I create a passel of readers and readers to be, but I also successfully created a new family tradition that everyone in the family enjoys.

One simple book can create a lifetime of memories—just a little tip of the day for ya.

2. What is your favourite autumnal book cover?

This is the easiest answer for me in this tag. Anyone who knows me knows I am a major Louis Penny fan.

My favorite autumnal book cover is Louis Penny’s “The Brutal Telling.” A book cover covered with trees turning from red to gold, you can’t get any more Autumn than that.

3. What is your favourite autumnal drink to read with?

This is a tricky question for me, in all honesty. My favorite autumnal drink to read with is either Stash Cranberry Pomegranate Tea or a cup of coffee with a splash of heavy cream and sometimes a little vanilla and cinnamon.

It depends on my planned reading session, as I read from 5:30 a.m. to 6 a.m. every morning, including weekends and evenings before bed.

4. Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning?

I don’t have a preference for reading time. I schedule non-negotiable reading time into my calendar twice a day, and if I have extra time during the day to read, I jump at the chance.

5. Halloween is coming! What is your favourite spooky read?

Besides my typical love for Stephen King and Ray Bradbury's“Something Wicked This Way Comes,” I must say I adore “The House Across The Lake” by Riley Sager.

It was also one of my favorite books of 2022 and was included in my post Top 10 Spine-Chilling Horror Books to Dive into Halloween 2023, where you can find more books to read this month!

6. What is the ultimate comfort read for you?

Comfort reads are those I enjoyed growing up. There is no rhyme or reason why I turn back to books that I enjoyed as a child, but there are no words to describe the mental joy and peace they bring me.

Julie Campbell’s Trixie Belden books and Enid Blyton’s Famous Five are some of my favorite comfort reads.

7. What is your favourite autumnal reading snack?

I am not a snacker, but when I do, I usually eat cheese, imported salami, and other tapas. It’s about protein for me. But I do make this amazing (if I say so myself) pumpkin cheesecake loaf that I will curl up with a book, a blanket, and a cuppa tea and enjoy while reading.

8. What is your favourite autumnal candle to burn whilst reading?

I burn candles from when I wake up to when I go to bed, but…

My favorite autumnal candle to burn while reading in October is Witches Brew from Bloom & Prosper Candle Co. I am down to my last one and haven’t seen them anywhere to buy more!

Otherwise, I am all about candles with the scents of sage, patchouli, currant, pumpkin, orange, or pomegranate, and not always in those combinations. My current candle is a Wolf and Lamb Candle with the scent of Patchouli and Current.

9. When you’re not reading, what is your favourite autumnal activity?

My favorite autumnal activity when I am not reading is family time. You name it: hayrides, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, color tour drives!

10. What is on your autumn/fall reading list?

You will have to see my 12 Books To Add To Your Reading List This October post for that.

But in November, I plan to read through the books on my TBR Backlog, get through them, and maybe toss in a book that is new to me when I can!
