We are sitting at another New Year, New Year 2023, and the Chinese Year of the rabbit, officially on Jan 22. In my mind, that means productivity because of… bunnies… you know what I mean.
Productivity is pretty null when I pick resolutions. They are only another means of self-sabotage followed by stress and disappointment in my “failures.” None of these things are healthy. And I do not need any more ways to sabotage myself.
For the last couple of years, I have opted to have a word of the year along with a mantra that goes along with the word. Writing out goals helps as well.
How I picked my word and mantra for 2023.
Each year since I started doing a word and mantra combo, I have pulled three tarot cards from the Monthly Theme tarot cards and pulled a Rune for the year.
The three cards that I drew from the 12 were:
- 10 of Pentacles (Gratitude)
- Queen of Pentacles (Be supportive)
- Strength (Power)
- The Rune for the year was Raidho (move ahead for a change.)
I wrote down Gratitude * Connection * Power * Change.
I was drawn to the word CHANGE, and many quotes popped into my head as I mulled over the word.
How I put my Mantra together into a workable affirmation for 2023
This is the part you get to put your thinking cap on.
I asked myself the following questions:
- What am I grateful for?
- Connections? What does that mean?
- What do you do with personal power?
- How can I use those three things to hammer the word Change home?
This affirmation is my result from those questions.
“I am grateful for my experiences.
I will make connections with others.
I will use my power to empower others.
And together, we can make a change not just in ourselves but in the world around us.”
