A tale of a freak storm, a curious Gentleman, and an inescapable blasphemy…

Leonora and her three young wards seek shelter for the night as a storm unlike any the elder has seen arises. A secluded manor and an eccentric Sir offer them apparent safety for the night. However, safety is often an elusive and fleeting aspiration. Will the transgressions of the past be a curse they can never escape?

Note and disclaimer

“Iniquitous” is part of my personal challenge to write a short story a week, and stories in this challenge may not be epic. Write every day, even if it is crap. Challenge yourself.

I am posting “Iniquitous” fresh out of my mind without editing with the intention of revisiting the words on paper later when the original words are not fresh. I edit better that way.

I appreciate creative comments and criticism. Please do not merely say, "This story sucks." Let me know why you think it sucks. What do you feel I can do better when I do the second draft? Thanks! 😉

I know I have an issue with using extraneous that and had in my rough drafts. I am guilty of writing in passive voice in a rough draft too.
