The Demon Spell - Interview with Brevyre

The Demon Spell - Interview with BrevyreInara – Who do you consider your biggest rival right now and how are you feeling about this person?

Brevyre – Besides the Daemon, my biggest rival has been Rhaac’var.  I am at the point in the story where a new one has shown her face, but I still don’t know much about her at this time.  I am sure she will end up being another antagonist in this book as well. I think she will be one of my toughest challenges in The Demon Spell.

Inara – I heard a rumor she will still be trying to make your life hell in the next book as well.

Brevyre – Cool, bring it on, Inara!

Inara – You have had an interesting life, as many of our readers can attest to, but here’s a big question for you, who has been your most influential mentor in your life to date?

Brevyre – That’s a tough one.  It really is, I have a few.  Thangwen obviously, Tucosta and Tris have done a lot of mentoring for me…. Umm Antarium, he’s a biggie, but so is Qhol’xaan.  I can’t pick one of those people who have been the most influential in my life.  They all have had a big influence on who I am at this point in my life.

Inara – You have had a lot of people help define who you are, including the people at the Fluvi Temple.

Brevyre – Unfortunately, that is true.  They did help mold me into what I am at a very young age.  I guess with their bad influence, things I do against what they taught me is a very defining thing about things I value and how I react to certain situations.  But in that token, Blelgled and Zareene could also be counted as mentors, since they are helping me grow as a person. I have learned a lot and “evolved” since they came into my life.

Inara – Speaking of Blelgled, I already know this answer, I think the readers would like to know, but, who is your love interest?

[Brevyre blushes a little] Blelgled of course!  He’s the most epic person I have ever met.

Inara – Epic?  How so?  What about him makes you go all swishy?

Brevyre – You have met him, haven’t you?  Of course you have, you created him.  He’s gorgeous for one… and combat ability…. Wow…. Just… WOW…. Not to mention, he makes me feel like a better person than just your average, typical demon.

Inara – I don’t think anyone would call you just an average, typical demon, Brevyre.  You are much more than that.

Brevyre – Thank you, Inara.  I am trying to distinguish myself from the rest of “those” people.  It’s not very easy to do.

Inara – Speaking of demons, you have a very exotic look.  What do you think is your best feature, besides your eyes?

Brevyre – My eyes?  I would never say my eyes.

Inara – Your eyes are gorgeous.

Brevyre – Well, thank you, Inara. My best feature… I think that would be my high cheekbones that I graciously inherited from Thangwen.

Inara – Thangwen is very beautiful, I want her hair.

Brevyre – Yes… damn her!  She gave Tris her hair! That gene skipped right past me!

Inara – What about your worst feature? If there was anything you could change about yourself looks wise, what would you change?

Brevyre – Easy question, finally!  My horns…  I would totally ditch the damn horns.
